We started thinking about these services when San Diego suffered from the awful Cedar Fire of 2003. Several people we know lost everything in that fire....including their precious family photos and videos. We couldn't fit all of our video tapes into the 2 fireproof file boxes we had. And those types of file boxes probably wouldn't have been much help in the infernos we get during our infamous Santa Ana winds. DVDs are much more compact. Duplicates can be kept in the bank vault or at grandma's house.

Then we found out that video tape is slowly degrading all by itself...this deterioration varies based on storage temperature and humidity but can happen in as little as 10 years. Yikes! We had baby videos of our firstborn who is 20 years old! Sadly, our wedding video is already severely degraded.

Since it was time for us to save the baby videos, we realized many of our friends and neighbors might have the same needs.

A business was born.

Addendum October 2007: Unbelievably hundreds more have lost their homes to fire. Digitize today! Keep copies at a remote location. Fireproof safes were incinerated in the Witch Creek Fire of 2007. While we at Willow Run Media had hoped to also be able to digitize your important documents and photos for you, we have found that our scanning services can not be competitive in price so for that we will refer you on to some other companies. We will be happy to digitize your videos, but if not us, please have somebody do it before disaster strikes!
